Artist Annie Henrie Nader's depiction of the Resurrected Savior is recognized by her timeless style.
The idea for Balm of Gilead came to me shortly after Japan was hit by the catastrophic tsunami in March of 2011. I was moved by how much suffering I saw. This painting depicts Christ’s Second Coming when, after great destruction and upheaval, Christ will heal us. There are two scriptures inscribed at the bottom of the original painting: “O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors” (Isaiah 54:11) and “I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee” (2 Kings 20:5). This painting is a testimony to the power of Christ to become our personal Balm of Gilead.- Annie Nader
