Sara Alleman - The Color of Butterfly Wings - Morpho

Inspired by the beloved children's hymn, My Heav'nly Father Loves Me, artist Sara Alleman has painted butterfly wings as a reminder of all we've been given.

He gave me my eyes that I might see; The color of butterfly wings. He gave me my ears that I might hear; The magical sound of things. He gave me my life, my mind, my heart: I thank him rev'rently; For all his creations, of which I'm a part. Yes, I know Heav'nly Father loves me.

Sara Alleman is a print maker with an eye for detail.  She makes her prints by "drawing" onto a piece of plexi with a sharp blade.  After the drawing is complete it is rolled with ink and wiped, with the scored areas holding ink.  It is then pressed onto a piece of paper creating the image you see.  The print, also known as an impression is not considered a "copy" but rather considered an "original" due to subtle differences of each impression.
