(33) But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, (34) And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. (Luke 10:33–34)
In this rendition of the popular New Testament story from popular Christian artist Brian Kershisnik, the Good Samaritan helps the injured Jewish man on the side of the road as angels watch his kindness and compassion. After being robbed, beaten, and left for dead, two men ignored the injured man before a Samaritan man passed by and tended to him. Not only did he take care of his wounds, the Good Samaritan took the man to a nearby inn and made sure he would be taken care of. Jesus Christ told this parable to teach His people to be more like the Samaritan in the story. We, too, can be like this good man in our conduct and treatment of those who are different from us.
Brian Kershisnik brings this meaningful story to life in his unique and abstract work of art. Hang this image in your home to serve as a reminder of Christ’s teaching to serve and treat others with love and kindness.
